Here’s what others are saying:

“It was a pleasure to work with K4Dev in a regional project in the Pacific, evaluating a program building disaster and climate resilience in the Pacific Island nations. Peter showed high level of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of his work, and demonstrated extreme flexibility during the assignment, which was full of tight deadlines and required a lot of travelling. Peter went above and beyond with his commitment to finalise the project with high-quality outcomes. Besides, he patiently mentored me throughout the project to learn some new skills in program evaluation, which I am very thankful for. I look forward to working with Peter again.”

“We engaged K4Dev in an evaluation of our Food and Water Security project in Fiji. Right from the very beginning, Peter was eager, available and communicative – promptly responding to any communications we had with him. In the course of organising the evaluation and the various logistics, we encountered some bad weather, which postponed the travel dates, but Peter was extremely accommodating and flexible, working around his other commitments to conduct the work and deliver the report. While in Fiji, Peter connected easily with community members and project staff, as well as the various government workers, and was always respectful so that participants felt at ease and information flowed without difficulty. He was able to take this information to analyse and break it down in a clear and succinct manner, and considerately communicated his views and opinions. His report was extremely well written and stimulating to read. His numerous insights demonstrate his wealth of experience in the sector, and his recommendations were meaningful and pragmatic.

I would not hesitate in recommending k4Dev to conduct assignments in the development sector. He has been a pleasure to work with and on top of his excellent technical skills, he is an easy person to be around. I wish him all the best.”

“K4Dev conducted an evaluation for a DFAT-funded (ANCP) project in Vanuatu focused on women’s livelihood and empowerment. Peter’s high technical capacity, significant practical experience, ability to speak pidgin and cultural knowledge of the Pacific was an asset during community consultations in the field. He built strong rapport with our local partners in Vanuatu, who also formed part of the enumeration team.

Peter was extremely adaptable and flexible, achieving all milestones asked of him, while working through many logistical challenges. His academic, technical and field experience came together in a very accessible, open final report which demonstrated strong, high quality qualitative data and analysis. The report was well received both internally and with our local Vanuatu partner. Peter was open and encouraged feedback from myself and our local partner that was incorporated into the final report. He was dedicated and went beyond the expected during the evaluation planning stage. This experience was also a learning and professional development opportunity for me and our partner staff in Vanuatu. Peter was patient and took time to build upon our technical skills during the process. I highly recommend Peter Weston.”

I've learnt a huge amount from Peter Weston's excellent Evaluation Report - it has insights that go far beyond online training as such, and reading it has plugged significant gaps in my understanding of FMNR as a whole.”

“K4Dev conducted an Endline Evaluation for CRS' multi-year, multi-million dollar nutrition program in Timor-Leste, leading an evaluation team comprised of two international consultants and 16 Timorese enumerators. Peter accomplished all deliverables in a tight timeframe while managing a diverse team with a spectrum of abilities to overcome several logistical and capacity challenges to conduct data collection and lead data analysis. His technical expertise was highlighted in the in-depth quantitative analysis and high quality final report. Not only were Peter's outputs technically sound, but he was a delight to work with. He was responsive over email and well-received by local staff as a positive and flexible leader. I highly recommend Peter for similar consultancies and would be happy to work with him again.”

“I recommend K4Dev for skills in training and consultancy. I worked with Peter on a training course for Nepali government officials. I was very impressed with his ability to unpack the diverse roles of non-government organisations in development and disaster risk reduction. He has a personable presentation style and uses his experience as a practitioner to explain complex situations in a practical manner.”

“I hired K4Dev to conduct an evaluation of my organisation's health projects. In our work together, Peter did a great job. He was an excellent communicator, and had a deep understanding of how to effectively roll out an evaluation that included a household survey, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews - in an unstable and quickly changing environment. He did a good job of anticipating and proactively addressing hurdles, and being flexible in his approach when required by circumstances outside of our control. He applied a rigorous methodology and showed excellent team leadership. I would recommend Peter without hesitation.”

“I have worked with Peter in two capacities. First, he managed me when I was an independent consultant. Second, when he started K4Dev I had the opportunity to engage him for a Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture EoP evaluation. Peter has deep passion for producing high quality research that impacts programming in a manageable way. He not only produces high quality but also delivers on time. I have no hesitation recommending him.”

“WV PNG recruited K4Dev to help us conduct four key end-of-project evaluations. As part of this process we requested that Peter help us strengthen the Evaluation capacity of our team and that he takes them on the journey with him. Peter conducted two highly informative workshops and has ensured the project staff learned and benefited professionally from the entire evaluation process. He has also been extremely flexible throughout the evaluations and was very nimble in adapting data collection to rapidly changing circumstances and unexpected barriers, which often occur in Papua New Guinea and some of our more remote project locations. I have no hesitation to recommend Peter.”

“During all periods that I worked with Peter Weston in Senegal, as program manager and then as a regional manager, he demonstrated very respectful, frank and very rich relations with staff and communities. The staff and communities who know him still hold good memories of him.

Peter is an expert in resilience and climate adaptation. The proof is that, with his guidance, in Senegal, we were able to initiate and extend projects in Farmer-managed natural regeneration (FMNR) in the dryland region of Kaffrine. Since then, the extension of the FMNR has continued to grow successfully, enabling World Vision Senegal to be chosen over all other development and agriculture NGOs for the implementation of the European-Union-funded Evergreen Agriculture Scaling-up project:2017 – 2021. In evaluations, Peter was highly organised and collaborative. His evaluations produced insightful findings and recommendations to improve our work.

Often in Senegal, program staff have challenges in communicating with foreign advisers because in most cases they only speak English. However, Peter Weston’s ability to speak and write French allowed him to easily share his experience with operational staff and villages leaders and also learn from them.”

“I highly recommend K4Dev. I have been impressed by Peter’s ability to combine methodological rigour with a deep awareness of pragmatic and contextual issues to produce responsive, reliable, insightful evaluations. Peter not only knows what to do when conducting high quality evaluations, he also knows why and how to do it and so can deftly adapt to changing circumstances to produce meaningful results. Peter works well at both strategic and operational levels to design thoughtful, useful evaluations, and deliver them effectively, working productively and respectfully with local staff.”

“Being part of the evidence and evaluations training facilitated by Peter was not only helpful but also very informative. The topics were easy to understand and can be applied in any context. As a Technical Program Coordinator, the sessions and different topics taught were complementary. There were daily recaps of the topics and practical examples given which enabled the team to practise, reflect, and apply in their work following the workshop. I am confident in his expertise in the field of monitoring and evaluation and would definitely recommend for other opportunities.”

“Peter possesses high level skills in monitoring and evaluation and, over the course of the work we did together, Peter demonstrated a highly sophisticated understanding of research monitoring and evaluation in complex settings. Peter possesses excellent communication skills and he is a very amicable person to work with. This, coupled with his high moral and professional standards, enables important work to be done in a productive and efficient way. Peter has worked in a range of development settings and has gathered a repertoire of skills and experience that enable him to provide tailored and appropriate support for monitoring and evaluating development projects. His approach is grounded in a fundamental understanding of humanitarian work and the complexities of working across agencies, settings, geographical locations, logistics and languages. He does this with an approach that is sensitive to cultural protocols. Peter possesses a rare combination of experience, excellent professional skills and a friendly personality. I would recommend him to any organisation seeking a person of integrity and strong capability.”

“Peter has consistently provided the highest value on evaluations. His extraordinary technical knowledge is complemented by many years of practical experience, and he combines the two for a thorough consideration of all the relevant aspects when evaluating projects. I have seen him adapt his style and approach to multiple different contexts, and in each, he develops a professional rapport with colleagues, and leads a process that ensures all staff and participants are fully engaged, and learn from the process as much as from the outcomes. Peter’s genuine interest in ongoing learning, and in building an ever-growing body of knowledge in climate change and resilience, means that he consistently examines data in thorough detail, and finds insights that have eluded the rest of us– he is meticulous in planning and documentation, he goes above and beyond the responsibilities of each evaluation and his results are always of the highest quality. I have also admired Peter’s particular dedication to ensuring the opinions of all stakeholders are included in evaluations, especially those who are often overlooked, like women and children.”
